Your customers do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But you can influence it. Shape it. Everything else flows from here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, my company's purpose is to democratise business education. Anyone can build a successful business with the proper knowledge and tools regardless of background or formal education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That purpose informs everything we do, from the courses we create to how we market them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83e\uddd1\u200d\ud83e\udd1d\u200d\ud83e\uddd1 Know Your Audience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Who are you trying to reach?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And I don't mean some vague demographic like &#8220;millennials&#8221; or &#8220;small business owners&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I mean <em>really<\/em> know them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What keeps them up at night?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What are their dreams and aspirations?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What language do they use?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Where do they hang out online and offline?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The more specific you can get, the better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here's a trick: Create a fictional persona for your ideal customer. Give them a name, a backstory, hopes, and fears.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For us, it's &#8220;Ambitious Alex&#8221;:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>28 years old<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Works a corporate job but dreams of starting their own business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Feels stuck and unfulfilled<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wants financial freedom and the ability to make an impact<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spends time on YouTube and Instagram learning about entrepreneurship<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Listens to business podcasts during their commute<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When creating content or products, we always think, &#8220;Would this resonate with Ambitious Alex?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udfc6 Clarify Your Unique Value Proposition<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>What makes you different?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Why should someone choose you in a world of noise and endless options?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn't about being better than everyone else at everything. It's about finding your unique angle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe it's your personal story. Perhaps it's an innovative approach to solving a common problem. It could be the way you combine different skills or perspectives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Whatever it is, nail it down and make it crystal clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For us, it's the combination of no-nonsense practical advice focusing on mindset and personal development.
